I want to convert my aircraft to 2.4g using Spektrum dx6i ,the Typhoon and Trojan present no problems, however the Spitfire,FW190 and Super Cub have the ESC built in with receiver.
My question is what speed controller do I use for these 3 aircraft ampage wise and are there any other issues I need to address apart from fitting the appropriate receiver, my choice at this moment being the AR6000
Thanking you in anticipation, Geoff.

Hi Geoff
Personally I would go for an AR6100 as this is what I use in mine and it's not had a problem. In order to use the Spektrum RX you will need to remove the original ESC/RX For the spitfire the original servos are fine but the Supercub will need it's servos replacing as they are incompatible with the Spektrum RX (non standard servos)
for the ESC in my Spitfire, I used a Jeti 20amp ESC http://www.jetimodel.cz/eng/hlavnien.htm
This ESC is also Lipo compatible and worked really well with Lipo sources. I mounted the Spektrum RX up near the cockpit and the Jeti ESC where the original ESC/RX was mounted. The only problem with this is getting to the RX as its slightly out of reach, you may want to consider another location thats easier to get to however I wanted to distance it from any other electial sources.
If you mount these components where I said, and with a E-flite or PZ Lipo battery your CG will be 60mm and for me, this files great.
Supercub should be straight forward, you will need to replace the servos and ESC though.

Thanks for that imformation , I have now made a shortlist of what I need and have decided to leave the Cub out of it for the time being and concentrate on the warbirds. For the ESC I have decided on the EFLITE 25 Amp controller for brushed motors from 400 to 600 for the FW190 and Spitfire in conjunction with the AR6100 receiver.
Thanks for your help,it has been most useful.
Cheers Geoff.

Be advised, I think the FW190 also uses 5 wire servos, if this is the case you will need servos as well. The spitfires easy, rip out the ESC/RX and replace it with the spektrum and Eflite ESC.
Are you running a DX6i? if so, you can straight away add expodential to the ailerons, add 50+ expodential, this will give less movement for the first 50% travel and makes it far easier to line up for landing.

Hi Geoff,
we are now selling the Spektrum DX6i which comes with an AR6200 Receiver. I guess E-flite paired them up for a reason!
http://www.squadronleader.co.uk/product/DX6i_6_Channel_2.4GHz_Radio_System_SPM6600E---DX6i
According to the blurb, the A6200 offers:
- Full Range 6 Channel Aircraft Receiver
- Internal and remote receiver
- DuaLink
- Dimensions (WxLxH): 21.6mm x 30.1mm x 12.3mm
- Weight: 10g
- Voltage Range: 3.5V-9.6V
- ModelMatch prevents flying a model using the wrong model memory (feature does not work with module systems)
- ServoSync (feature does not work with module systems)
- SmartSafe fail-safe system
"The AR6200 DSM2 6-channel receiver is a great solution for all model aircraft requiring full range up to six channels. This DuaLink receiver simultaneously gathers information from two receivers that is processed by patent-pending Spektrum software that combines it to form the most vivid picture of an RF signal. This dual path redundancy, plus the fact each of the two receivers is located in a slightly different location exposes each to a different RF environment and creates a bullet-proof RF link in all conditions."
All the best.

It is very good to see you are now stocking the DX6i but it if weren't for you having said so I wouldn't have noticed.
Just an idea but couldn't you send us an e-mail each time you add new items?
What happened to the monthly e-mail, I think I only every received one.
