thought i would share another of my parkzone spitfires with you,.,.I based it on a mk V that was used by USAAF pilots for training whom would then fly the long range PR MK-XI from mount farm near oxford.,,.this was a photographic unit,..by mid 1944 most USAAF aircraft were left in natural metal finish although their PR spitfires were pale blue.,.,this MK V was a war weary left over from an RAF squadron along with another MKV that was in olive drab/sea grey...I used pastic kote silver paint for the most of it,.then with alloy tape for the wing gun covers plus a few odd panels then poked them with a pencile for the look of the fixings/rivetts,.decals are from a smashed parkzone p51 mustang i have ,its not weatherd yet but it will be soon,,.with plenty of stains & faded alloy ect.,,.will post pics when done,,,...........

i started to cover some small panels with alloy foil that sticks on,but thought it looked so good i done one whole wing top,.took me about an hour,.i think il do the whole plane in it, it doesnt weigh anything, so should be ok,this spit is on 2.4gig so the rx esc has gone,i replaced them with the spektrum stuff plus an E flite esc,.,.so ive saved some weight there!!..ive added some pics of my progress.......years ago i had a 68" spitfire finished he same way,but in the sun light i couldnt see it,..with this one i cant be botherd to do the underside that way so it will be paint shaded only...if it ends up looking crap il keep it as a shelf queen,,,or put it out to the wolfs on ebay...

I don't think they suit the spitfire really, it's more the kind of thing you'd expect to see on a P40.
