Definitely the easiest and best modification to make, I've just been out and flown a back to back comparison with batteries.

1st flight with the standard 10.8v 1000mAh Ni-MH
2nd flight with a 3 cell 11.1v 2200mAh LiPo

There is so much more power with the LiPo, much better rate of climb and high speed low flybys just sound so much better :D Not to mention the longer flight time.

So there you go, get ordering those LiPo batteries from the T-28 Trojan and bung them in you Spitfire ;)

I fly 1800mah cells in mine and never fly to LVC because I also use a Lipo alert to warn me when batt voltage gets to 3.2/cell but I easy get 8 mins of 75% throttle flight and 15mins+ of around 50% throttle flight.

Only problem is the Lipo kills the standard motor and gearbox, yet again I've cracked mine.

I think I will go with a brushless outrunner next.

im in that awkward possition that i have 10 nicads for the fighters.,5 for my kids super cup,.so that alone gives me plenty of flight time,.however on the other side of the coin,.id like a bit more grunt for the fighters, although i only fly them slowish for that scale look,.but once in a while it would be nice to stand it on its tail .,n,.send it vertical.,,.im also set up now on a dx6i with esc for brushed motors,.i fear that going lipo will be expensive!! .. Ive got a 68" auster that i got a quote at north weald to go elecy.,.charger.,£120,. one battery-£50.,.,ouch!!! motor ect ect,.,.so to put my fleet on lipos will be megga bucs?????????? any sugestions?

Going brushless with lippo or even just lippo alone. Will allow you to fly in windy conditions that the stock system wouldn't.Which means you can fly it more often.

About 50%, I tend to fly at full throttle too :)
