After some messing with my fw190 as some of you might of already read on here i choose to make the same modification to one of my spitfires, its so simple its a must in my book,.,,i added two small washers around 1mm thick behind the left side motor mount,.as if you were looking head on to your plane...ive always found that both the fw190 plus the spit will tend to roll to the left once hand launched,.regardless of into wind or no wind!..with the addition of the two washers both my fw190 plus one spit so far goes away from me as if its been fired like a arrow from a crossbow,.,.lazor straight!!!...you loose that sinking feeling plus the complete 360 degrees that the plane wants to do...Like i say its a must in my book!!!.........

Did you increase or decrease the thrust angle? I'm trying to visualise which side you adjusted because it sounds like you decreased it. Would like to give it a try because I have never managed to trim mine straight, the ailerons are always left up and right down slightly.

Guys,
Am I right in thinking you have both gone lypo? If you have you may be experiancing what is known in helicopter circles (no pun! honest:D) as "Gyroscopic precession" and by adding washers and changing the direction of angle of attack on the blade....removing the problem (infact your kite should rise slightly faster??? if you have it right:confused:) Alternativly adding a small plastic card "trim tab" to the right wing will also work.
If you don't like the look of one tab on one wing, you can put one on both wings and only trim down one!
Anyway glad your back up old chap.....back in to formation!

what i did was have the plane infront of me looking at it head on,.i put the washers on the left side as i looked at it,.so if you was behind it the washers would be on he right hand side of the plane,.you can see the mount is offset but it needs to be offset more,.so it the sames side,,.,..,this for sure helps with the torque on launching, because we dont have rudders on our fighters.,but the addition of one would also help cure the torque...the same side as my attatched picture,,,

Closest I get to moding is the paint or body, as I would be sure to wire up a motor the wrong way!LOL!:D
I'm going to have to go Lypo some time....and these help understand the practical side of chaqnging the motor to go with it, well done mate:)

Ahh so you reduced the thrust angle a little, I will have to give this a try on my standard Spit to see if I can finally trim it perfectly.

although its a small amount by the time you times it by the distance the prop is from the base of the mount it adds up to a fair amount,.it will make the spinner look a little off center but in the air its never seen,.let me know how you get on,!
