Good afternoon all,

I'm currently flying an Hobbyzone Aerobird 3 as my first RC plane and am finally getting to grips with it (Despite 3 x big crashes on first 3 x outings and lots of replacement parts nearly putting me off the hobby for good),

I can now confidently fly the plane and want to step up to a Parkzone Fighter and have always been a fan of the German aircraft so the FW190 was my first choice but have heard mutterings that it has problems in the air and that the Spitfire is the easiest to fly, my question is; "Is the Spitfire that much easier to fly than the FW190 i.e is the FW190 that bad ?!

(Ps I ordered a mains charger yesterday afternoon from Squadron Leader, It arrived 9am this morning, can't ask for better service than that!)

I haven't flown the FW190, but I do have a Spitfire and a Mustang, (the FW190 and Mustang are supposed to be similar to fly) the Mustang flies faster and has a higher stall speed than the Spitfire it is also slightly more responsive, but other than that they're quite similar.

Get the FW190 if that's what you want, just remember to give it a jolly good throw when you launch it!

I would be tempted to stick with the Spitfire because it flies nice and easy and thats what you want when your learning.

I serieusly doubt any RTF plane flies better than the Spitfire! That and the fact that it looks fantastic in the air make it an ideal choice. However the jump from high to low wing with aelerons is quite big, you will need your wits about you.

I believe most people find the Spit the best step up....and if you follow some of the "words of wisdom" on these pages you should be fine.

stage 1 spit on standard batteries with minimal throw on the control surfaces and the switch on the top right of the controller on “low”.
stage 2 move to higher throw on control surfaces
stage 3 move switch to “high”
stage 4 bigger batteries stage five change the motor…..your now at a stage of being able to fly any of the Parkzone!

happy flying (and landings!)

I must admit to not having any problums with the motor pitch my self....flat and true on hand launch from the start. I thought this was an issue with going lypo/bigger watt?

I'm sure by this stage, the pilot should be able to control this, and correct after finding any issues....but as I say I haven't had the problum
