As the title suggests I am a total novice to flying any type of RC plane. I just purchased the parkzone spitfire and it arrived today, so far I am happy!
My local hobby shop suggested a starting plane but I really wanted a spitfire and you guys probably heard this a lot lol.
Anyways, I was wondering if anyone could suggest a good flightsim I could buy to practise some flying.
My friend also has a Parkzone P51 Mustang so we kind of both agreed to help eachother learn!

Hi Edd!
My advice to you is to get yourself basic fligt sim, I started with a protech
cessna that had a sim come with it.
It wasn't the best but it gave me an idea of having to reverse your direction
when plane is flying towards you, also helped with landings.
When you finally decide to give your spit a go keep it high (70-80ft)
it gives you time to rectify your mistakes.
The other to watch out for is don't fly to slow, if u turn at low speed the spit with drop out the sky.
On landing just line yourself up then drop the throttle, it will glide it smoothly.
good luck and have fun:D

There is a good flight sim for £20 called RC Plane Master... I bought it from my local model shop and it helped me loads!! You get a transmitter with a USB cable so you can plug it into your computer, and then away you go!
If you try flying a Spitfire as a first aeroplane it's almost certain that you will crash within a minute and will have wasted your money. A much better bet is a Super Cub, although it will quickly become a bit boring, but as a starter plane it can't be beaten. :)
RealFLight is an excellent flight sim, quite pricey but very realistic :)

haha good choice, the trainer plane on RC Plane Master with just rudder and elevators flies exactly the same as the Supercub, the Spitfire is my favourite plane on the simulator but it rolls much quicker than the Parkzone one that you have! Once you are good on the simulator you will be ready to fly in real life! :)

thats the idea...I should get my friend who owns the Mustang to get it to, otherwise he be crashing it like there was know tomorrow.
Also can I ask is the DX6i system any good? I think once i get into rc electric planes more and get better at flying I will see fit to invest a small amount of money on a new transmitter etc. And from what ive been reading on here to go li-po to get longer run times.
Me and my friend actually saw a guy with mustang at the park when we where out with our RC Nitro cars this saturday gone, was quite amazing and some nice aeroabatic moves.

Yeah the DX6i is a great system, I have one and have all my models bar one converted to 2.4ghz now. You don't need a Spektrum system right now but when you want to take the hobby further, a DX6i system will grow with you. The only downside to the system is the receivers are expensive £40 for the AR6100 but the model match system means you cannot fly a model with the wrong program set which happens a lot with FM computerised Radios.
