heres my battle of brittian dog fight pair.,.,the parkzone spitfire is again a rebuilt smashed one from ebay.,the bf110 is a kit from FLAIR.,i bought it as shown here,.but will give it a new paint job,.with the shark mounth shown in the pic,.it runs a pair of direct drive 600 brushed motors,.with a pair of 7.2volt nicads which im replacing with lipo power!.,last time it flew with the guy who built it,.says it flew well,.,.""lets see"!!!!...i painted the spitfire in 72 squadron markings,,.or as some of you might know the same as the one in londons Science Museum.,.,.,.Ive still gotta do my weathering,.ect ect,.plus fit the dx6i gear.,.,il run it on lipos as a test as ive not flown one of these with that type of battery yet,.....may even put a e-flite 480 outrunner in it,,,,but il have to be easy on the turns as id hate to snap a wing,,.so no reefing it around!!................more pics to come as i get more done...

Looking cool Bulli.....Like the 110! is the construction foam?
I did the same on my invasion spit on underspraying the undercarage and smoke looks real cool! dirty belly too......!

Oh Please find attached the pepet cannons I was on about!

all i did was cut the "bulb" off, paint pushed a bamboo dowel in and taper cut the leading edge end to fit the profile of the wing....seems to work?

I'll post you some used ones at some point if you like?

they look a lot better than mine.,stil mine are fixed in the wing now with super glue so no changeing them.,but next time i do a cannon wing spit il use your method,.,.did you fit the mustang exhausts??....My bf110 is a built up wooden kit from a company called FLAIR,.i bought it all built,.with esc,.motors,.ect ect,.just a naff paint job,.im only fitting lipos with a lipo saver for the esc,.,.then il fly it...but im working on my bf109-G at the mo as it will make a nice dog fighter for the pair of desert spits i got,.,.,.,"BOYS WITH THEIR TOYS" hah!!!!...................................!!

He He! I bet your not letting your lads "maiden it" LOL....no mate looks the mutts ###!
IF I get the lanc off the drawing board....I'll start to look at others such as the 110, Beufighter, mossy's etc in balsa and foam mixed! (have found a scroll saw for £40 and a solder iron for £20 to cut the foam) will keep you guys in the loop IF it works!

id seriously think about upscaling the green air one,..,all his parts just slot together.,.,add some ply formers to increase strengh,.,but i rekon you could do it well cheap!!!!!.,then re sell the gd lanc! lol....why do all the head scratchin when its all ready been done...! im converting a e-flite seafury into a tempest,..,as i cant find a 40" span tempest anywhere!!...its having major surgry!

To be honest there isn't much head scratching as most is simple....(also you can't pull out hair that an't there!):D
If I can get it right...then some of you guys MIGHT want a squadron of lancs!...........I can dream!
It's just a bit of fun, and I like the odd challenge:o

it was just a thought,,.when do you think you could have it mocked up,.,.what about a clear canope?... would you vac form one?,, i made a 1/5th scale mk1 escort body for my fg marder car,.but to get one body vac formed was £1000s....! so i had it done in glass fiber, then painted the glass areas black..

I have a cunning plan! if it works I'll pass it on, yes I plan on it being clear:D, and no it's not vac formed:confused:. (I have stayed away from that side of things for years and intend to still call it magic!)

Once I sort out in my head the difficult stuff, I'll plow on! I'm sort of 99% there as it where!:p

I have a week off soon and hope to sort out over that week........mid August

i thought id give it a go!! after all ive got plenty of planes that in kit form ive had to glue the two halfs of a wing together,.,.ive used 30 min apoxy on both the wing & fuslage,.,.im pretty sure the fuse will be ok but il get some either carbon fiber rod or strong ply the channel out the underside of the wing along the front & back then bond it in,.,,hope to have it back in the air by the weekend...

Mate....there are several differant schools of thought.....

1. use a bulsa or ramming splint (running accoss the effected area) with neat pva fill any gaps with pva soaked cottonwool.
2. ~ and use a foam safe apoxy.
3. pva, then cover with soaked pva A4 paper (stiffer than brown paper)
4. pva, then bandage

As you can tell I've had experiance of "heavy landings" and have close contact with the ground crew!LOL:D

All the above should work....good luck!!!!!:D

I'm sure, by looking at the 109, there'll be a run on PVA, apoxy and tape...."major shortage in uk market forcast" LOL:D

I'm hoping to get the lanc started (and have up to skelital stage) before the end of next week.....as Im on holiday!

Unlike you, praying for sunny, no wind.....i'm praying for the opposite (then I can claim diplomatic ammunity in the back room! )LORL:D:D:D

i like the sound of sitting alone building!!....id love to see the lanc or how far you get with it,.,.,i got the 109 back together but need a new esc,as the motor now just keeps making a beeping sound!!...picking one up tomorrow,(friday)...gotta do a bit of rubbing down where its been joined,.but other than that i think its good to go!..ive only joined the wing with 30 strong epoxy,.but it feels well strong,.,.so i hope it holds up...i got a my conecters now on the deans type of all my planes so im now on lipos,2500s,,i flew my WZ C spitfire against my son with his desert PE P spit,.i was on red 1400milamp nicads him on lipos,.i used two flying mainly half power with a few burst of full power ,.he flew the same but only used one lipo!! plus his is a lot faster than mine!! & when i landed the second time he still had what sounded like full power then went on the fly for another 5 mins,.,..,i couldnt beleve it!!!...lipos the way to go,.,.il probably put all my nicads on ebay,.

Well hear we go.....
I have scale plans, and will be redrawing this tonight and tomorrow, picking up new tools required also saturday...build starts Sunday!!!!!!:D
I'm hoping to push on and have a 3/4 construction done BEFORE the end of the week........
This will be passed on to the guys at Squadron leader to complete.
If it all gose horribly wrong I will let you know, but as Im off on holiday and not plugging in the lap top it could be quite for a week!
I'll try and keep a diary of shots on construction as I go also....even if i fail, some one can pick up from where I left off! LOL
