View Full Version : Just waved goodbye to my Cub..
:(
A sad day, I just waved goodbye to my trusty Cub, the time had come to sell it on so someone else can learn to fly, I had many enjoyable hours flying and thankfully no serious crashing :)
Need to make space for my next plane though, I have an Extreme Flight Edge 540 winging it's way to me.

I hope you gave the new owner of the Cub the address for Squadron Leader for all their spare parts!
The new one sounds good!

It's a Seagul Xray 3D sports plane, it is cheap and it's basla and ply so should be fun.
I've just had a call from the shop mines coming from to tell me that they don't have any yellow and blue ones :( It's take 3 days to let me know ( not exactly up to Squadron Leader standards! ) So I had to decide on a different plane or the other colour scheme ( red, white & blue ) seeing as I already have the prop and the other choices ( Yak54 & Extra 300 ) use different props I chose the colour I didn't want :(

Hey JuZ that spitfire looks brilliant, I may have to get one... I did see another electric Spitfire with a 72" wingspan in a leaflet in a shop, however I can't find the same one on the internet. :(
My Edge arrived today :D
Well a box of parts that potentially will be an Edge arrived, that's my weekend sorted then :)

Check you have everything you need, my Xray arrived yesterday and I now need some countersunk M3 30mm screws and I can't find any in the house lol, not sure if places like B&Q will do them becausee my LHS dont.

You can never say goodbye to your Cub. I tried it once having brought myself an Aerobird Swift Two crashes later and i was back to my cub it kept me going till my new parts arrived. Maybe one day i will give her up but not yet:)

Well, my dad did a celebratory snap of the wing, we pulled all the radio gear out (we'd long since replaced the cub's poor quality radio set up) and then we put it in the bin. I'd say that the cub, which was already in a poor state (constant motor failures had caused a fair few crashes) has definitely had it's day :-). I'm definitely not paying £100 + radio gear for a new one when i can get something even better!
