This is nothing to do with SL whose service is exemplary. Anyway the store who will remain nameless sell cheap components like motors, speed controls and batteries. I bought all the parts to convert my Spitfire to Brushless from there.

On the third flight, the motor shaft snapped clean off during landing, the motor was shipped with a spare but I couldn t get the original shaft out of the bell because although it was secured by a grub screw, it was also pressed in. I had to tap it out with a punch and hammer and re-install the spare the same way. On the very next flight, this shaft bent on landing

So after a few emails with the online store, I didn't get anywhere with them, they are not interested in this problem and mearly suggest I buy a new shaft. They still have not replied to where I buy a new shaft from though.

So after a few weeks of being ignored I posted on the sites forum and stated my dissatisfaction at the products and services and basically I got slated. I was called "tight" for not buying a folding prop amongst other insults. I was pretty disgusted and I guess I will never buy cheap repo parts from there.

Well, the main man squadron leader wanted a deal?
Mate I'm not LOL......but we all like a deal, but if something is to good to be true....it usually is:confused:
I think I have learnt over the years, and I ask myself "what would I pay for...." :rolleyes:and if the price is fair and the service is good, why change?

I've not been having much look recentley either.

Placed on order last Tuesday and their site still says order pending despite the money being taken out of my bank.

If you want to laugh at some of the insults. I would ask none of you get involved though as I don't really care about what they think. I think they are doing themselves more damage than they are aware of.

Rad, as you know....this is a "freindly" forum...with I hope some understanding, and decorum. All is ment in jest and the occasional leg pull to get things moving along with a smile......only have to look at the comments I make about tree assisted landing (I'm unbettable in this!!!!):D

Just a word of warning to the Squadron, please don't be tempted to buy cheap parts from Giantcod, I bought a load of stuff from them but I would not suggest anyone cut's corners and buys ESC's or motors from there. The one motor I did buy snapped the shaft on landing my Spit, the second shaft bent. Now a 40A ESC I kept to use in my Xray belted mid flight, it's only through the grace of god that the model landed it's self the right way up with minimal damage and with no pilot input. These products mate be cheap but you get what you pay for, I urge you not to enticed by the cheap prices and only buy from reputable sources.
