Hi All,
just dropped in to say hi & post a little movie of my 3rd Super Cub flight, i originally bought the Parkzone Spitfire, flew her once & decided i needed some training first, so bought the cub!
Do you guys think i'm ready to fly the Spitfire?
Please watch & any advice comments would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Razorman, welcome to the Squadron.
It's hard to say based on the video.
As long as you can put the plane exactly where you want it then you should be OK. Flying high and in wide circuits is one thing. How's your low level, precision control?
If you have the confidence then why not give the Spit a try. If you still feel you need a little more experience then you can always revert back to the Super Cub. You look like you have a nice big space to fly it in and long, soft grass to ditch it. What's the worst that could happen!!!;)

Whats the worst that could happen????HMMMM?:DLOL
Puts me in mind of a US civil war story.....
General on hourse back and his men cowering in a ditch, General shouts " they couldn't hit a barn door at this ran....BANG! and was shot in the eye!
I think I've said the same thing when flying in high wind!!!!
No mate, just go for it honest.....fly slightly slow on the first couple of outings with the Spit, and you'll be fine.
Pip pip old bean, canope open pipe lit, throttle to full contact!:D

As long as you understand the basics of flying, which way to turn the sticks and how airspeed effects the model then you can move to Spits. You don't have to fly the Spit flat out, use full power on take off but you can select half power to fly around nice and gentle, The Spit just glides in for a landing nicely too.
don't be scared but respect it and don't try complex manouvers till you get some hours under your belt.

Thanks for the feedback everyone, soon as the weather clears i'll take her up! (which might be another week by the looks of it)

Hi Razorman
Like you I started with the Cub and was nervous of the Spit but don't be. Just remember these things:
a) Fly when there is some wind (5-10mph)- the PZ planes seem to need some breeze over the wings for extra lift (except when souped up with brushless motors and lipos). Also landings into wind will mean she will float down - I have had mine almost hover in a stiff breeze.
b) Don't fly when tired - sounds obvious but she is a faster plane than the Cub
c) Launch the Spitfire into the wind at full throttle but level!!
d) Remember when she is flying towards you to keep her level move the stick to the side with the lower wing (sounds weird but you will understand if you think about it)
e) You can then throttle back and enjoy but remember it is fast and you cannot take your eyes off it for a second :D
I made mistake with not launching her level to start with and I have found very recently that flying in no wind is also bad (crashed when I started a year or so ago and tried last week and crashed both times in zero wind).
Have a look at:

for more details of my exploits and advice from the guys on this board.
The Spitifre is a great plane and is a lot of fun - nothing better than a low level pass just above the trees followed by climbing away showing off that great shape!! :D
Best of British luck and pip pip as Ralphp would say:p
"...don't just stand there - get one up!!!!"
