X Port Details

Hi Guys!

I'm contemplating a mini-project as it's nearing Bonfire Night and in keeping with the spirit of the occasion i've got to do something related!

To start off though, does anyone know what kind of voltage comes off the X Port channel on the receiver when the button is pushed?

I'm never sure how these x port thingys work. Is there a special transmitter that comes with them, and also with the combat modules do yo have to push a button (trigger) to fire at the other planes, or is it sending out a beam continually? Sorry but I'm a bit green in this area. :D

Nope, not quite! I want to fit a smoke device onto the plane which can be activated when in air.
