Greetings all,

Had several flights now with the Spitfire after one or two mishaps.

Last flew a trainer unsuccessfully 30 years ago.

I put in loads of hours on an RC flight sim which uses a USB transmitter.

I believe this helped a great deal, as the Spitfire is one of the RC models and flight is very realistic. Now that I've flown it
(wind, thermal and gusts parameters are available, for realistic conditions)

Mainly bought it for helicopter training but strayed back to planes.

Software is $40 and transmitter is £28
I have downloaded compatible models to run on the sim (about 100 in all)
IC and electric planes and helicopters. Some model graphics are superb , others are "ok".

Good for poor weather days and trying out 3D flight and other things I have been too nervous to attempt down the field.
It does however give a good background to flying characteristics.

Demo the software at www.clearviewrc.com
Please email me on colin.philpot@btinternet.com for info on the extra models.
(Spitfire is standard)

Or you can download FMS(Flying Model Simulator) for free HERE (http://n.ethz.ch/student/mmoeller/fms/index_e.html)

Obviously doesn't come with a Tx, but a 2 stick Joypad does a good enough job for learning the basics like nose in flying.
