Hi There, I have just been given , a P51d mustange, I supect it has been in a crash ,i have repaired all visible damage, and it looks ok,I have bought a new battery, the motor goes well {without the prop on} but when the prop is on it just slows down,I looked at the gear box assembly, and I think that the small black cog is slipping on the shaft, could this be the problem?if so how do I resolve it,and what would i need to buy,I hope you can make sense of this,I would be gratefull for any help,Thanking you in advance,Malcolm.

I have had this problem before - buying a new motor with pinion sorted it out. Not sure if you can get the pinion gear on its own but that is the problem.

Hi there,

I had this problem with my mustang, all I did was to buy a new pinion. The orginal ones are plastic and after a while they wear out. Now they have developed a solid metal one thats bullet proof. I'm not sure if SquadronLeader sell them, but you should be able to buy them from a decent model shop.
