Hi all

Just wanted to share with you my D day parkzone Spitfire

I have added the famous black and white stripes, as i was always a fan of this paint scheme.

The Stripes are basically stickers that are directly appiled to the wing. Making it easy to apply. The effect looks great though.

Let me know what you think

Regards

Wicko

I think it looks really good! I always liked the look of invasion stripes anyway! my super cub has stripes on the undersides of the wings but it's not quite the same! Haha :D

Mate....looks good. I've done the same thing, but by using an air brush......yours is effective and I'm sure a lot faster to do!

I've just recently painted up several differant birds for Sq Leader also, FW190 into Italian front and (coming soon)turned a Spit MkII into a North African Vb (with Volex filter) let me know what you think?

Let us know what you think

Loved the job you did on the FW! desert scheme, looks stunning.

I look forward to seeing the Spit.

Did SL approch you? or did you send them images of the plane? I sent them some pics of the Day spit and didnt get any reply!!! I think the hanger is a great idea when they can be bothered to update it!

I know Jamie has a lot on his plate (most of the time) and is running around doing everything from boxing up to answering the phones and web design!

The Vb got damaged in transit and I only sent the "remodled" filter section back Friday. (should be on the web in about aweek?)

I'm looking at some other possible spray jobs, which might be used for prizes for compositions later on.....winter/russian front being one.

Hi BloODWicko,

I understand your frustration, but we will get round to putting your submission on the custom section ASAP. It was due to go up last week but it's been so manic, everything has been pushed back. I will endeavour to get it done this week and thanks for taking the time to send it in.

Regards,

The Squadron.

I'm wondering who is going to be first to paint their Spitfire pink and pretend they are taking pictures! Haha :D

Well.....you will not believe this, I did consider this, as there are differant wings on that mark of photo recon spit (I know.....Geek rivit counter!) and would be a bit of a "cutting apart" project!

But wait until you see the Vb, with desert filter!!!! also radiator under wing

Yes I was thinking it would look good with the under wing radiator! I never realised those photo spits had different wings though... I learn something new every day! :D

The pics look even better on the web page.....I think the gauntlet has been thrown down! I've done the same on mine which might apear soon?.....

But who else is going to do some re-modeling?(adding or taking away bits) scarry! ha ha

I've done the underwing rad....you can cut this out from the styrene the kite comes in(you can glue this directly on with PVA).....I put this on the Vb thats coming soon to the web page

I must admit though the next version of Vb was a "clipped wing" (stopped vibration and more stable) for low level attack. Not sure what this would do to the parkzone, but I'm game if some one wants to do one.

Someone on RCGroups clipped the wings and said it inproved speed and overall performance.

Which is the reason they clipped the wings all those years ago, to boost the speed.

However, I think they make the model look ugly when clipped.

sorry, this wasn't the reason....I thought it was also, but I have a copy of the RAF report/investigation off a US web page.

If you send us over your email adress I'll send it on.

Its as follows
