We at Squadron Leader are always open to suggestions regarding what you want to see on the website. Is there an airplane, product, accessory or mod that we should know about?

If so, let us know by posting your reply today.

Many thanks

The Squadron Leader Team.

Dear Squadron Leader

I think you have a great site here, and it could grow into a fantastic information site aswell.

For example the "Dirty Focke" upgrade is excellent, i have since upgraded mine, with loads of dirt!! Photos to follow!

I would like to see you offering other parts such as Li po batteries and chargers, Motor upgrades etc.

Maybe now that you have a large database of people you could arrange events or have an online show diary?

Well whatever you do keep up the good work!

Squadron leader Wicko signing out!

Hi There

I agree with Wicko about the lipo stuff as the warbirds are advertised as being able to fly with lipos and it would be nice to get this stuff from squadronleader. Also what about some more interesting accessories like flycam one (http://www.flycamone.com/) not to mention the Xport stuff like the aerial drop module.

Thank you very much for the feedback. In answer to your questions:

We are looking into the upgrades for the Warbirds and in particular the Li-Po batteries. However, Li-Po batteries can be hazardous when charging if balancing isn't quite right, therefore the distributors are looking for a low cost charger that is up to the job.

We have also asked our suppliers for a number of brushless motors that are compatible (i.e. the minimum of modification) with our Warbirds. Their findings should be coming soon.

With regard to the Camera, I am in talks with "Ze Germans" regarding a new flycam. We will be testing once received and hope to sell online.

Another aspect we will be looking into is holding an event in the Spring time. This would probably involve dog fighting using the combat modules. These should be arriving shortly via our long lost shippment from China.

If you have any recommendations regarding specific items, we would be happy to hear.

Any news on the X-port modules from China?

Regarding what else to have on the site, I think most of us want better, longer lasting batteries which provide more power over the standard stock batteries. I have just found a UK supplier of batteries which offer direct replacements for the ones which come as standard but are much better, maybe Squadron Leader could team up with them so that each time we order spare parts (and in my case that is quite regular) we can also purchase better batteries at the same time all from this website....!

I think a section on customised Parkzone planes by customers of yours would be great, especially if they can explain their modifications step by step. i.e. paint jobs, motor upgrades, battery upgrades etc.

The customisations page is currently under construction and will be with you as soon as possible.

Hi,

I know this is a bit random but I've been waiting for the P51 decal sheet to come in, any chance when you will have them in stock?

Hi Mike,

It often puzzles us too as to why it takes so long to get certain items in stock. The Sole UK Distributors for ParkZone & HobbyZone spares say we should expect 120 day lead time (from China) if they too are out of stock. Yes it's a laughable situation and we believe that they won't improve. We have been told it's the nature of the Model Industry!

We hope to have the P-51 Mustang decals in stock within the next 3 weeks but cannot be certain. We have been told numerous times by the Distributors that they don't even know what is on the container until they open the doors!

As you probably already know, we endeavour to keep the stock levels high but from time to time a shortfall occurs.

Sorry for the non-specifics, but hey....."It’s the nature of the model industry". ;)

Regards

Squadron Leader

No problem, thanks for the reply. I know what its like, other model shops have the same problems, I'll just keep flying completely unmarked for the time being! :P

Thanks,

Mike

Just a quick enquiry. Will you be stocking EDF planes as they seem to be very popular at the moment? Also I've just received your newsletter and I've one thing to sat. It was a good read but not enough. PLEASE SIR CAN WE HAVE MORE?

I'd like to see a training section.

As you may have seen in my previous thread as a beginner I am finding it very difficult to pick this up as a hobby.

In order to get to someone to help/train you, you must join there club usually at costs, and thats assuming they are accepting new members. Then join the BMFA at cost and for insurance, then you have to pay for certificates before you can fly alone etc...

So what I'd like to see is if some of the more expierenced members of the site offered some training services. I know once I have a firm grip of flying these planes, I will certainly offer to help train people without all of the usual fuss and rigamrole that goes with it, just a maybe a £10 an hour fee or something.

What plane are you flying? A few pointers is all it really takes with the majority of the warbirds. I am sure people would give you some advice :)

After reading what I wrote I realise it sounded more like a rant, which was not what I intended!

When the weather calms down I'll be assembling and flying the P51 warbird.

I have purchased a PC flight sim for my PC (RC Planemaster) which has helped, but I still fear ditching into the grass moments after take off.

There are a few bits and bobs missing from the manual that would be useful info, for example.

The third channel elevator control. Which control stick becomes the thrid channel when the button is pressed??? The throttle or the alieron control stick?

The manual mentions trimming the aircraft, but no tips on how this is achieve...

I know for experinced fliers these questions seem easy, or maybe even daft, but for first time fliers they are all important!!!
