Troy I would not worry too much about the technicals, I have had mine almost since they came out and I still couldn't tell you. Why do you need to know, not being funny but she is a floater unless you intend to blast around at full throttle under 100ft. Keep posting on this subject, I'm curious and someone will know
![]() There is lots of info on the radian threads. I have recently moved onto the b/l mustang and other than making sure the control surfaces were level with the sticks centred and everything moved the right way ( never bothered with c of g either) I just clenched my bu-----s and threw her into the blue. Had two prangs (my fault) but no more probs since. The rad is tricky to launch and I can advise on that, also can advise on the post launch stalling (roller coaster effect, once you level off from the climb) Last edited by scottymech48; 03-10-2010 at 10:39 PM. |

Thank you for the reply. Understand what you are saying but if anyone has the rates or could measure them would be greatly appreciated.

Troy, I have just looked at mine.
The rudder has the pushrod in the second hole from the outer end of the control horn. On low rates I get 18mm of throw. On high rate I get 23mm of throw. The elevater pushrod is on the last outer hole(furthest from fuselage) Low rate throw is 10mm. High rate throw is 15mm. Hope this helps. Have you flown her yet? scotty

Hi mate,I wouldn't worry too much about the throws on the Radian control surfaces as they are not critical. The Radian is slow to respond to stick inputs particularily in the yaw so you do need a good rudder throw. With regards to launching I always launch on 50% throttle and push down on the elevator to stop the model from trying to loop.hope this snippet of imfo us of use to you.I think the Radian has a chill factor of 10,I find it most relaxing when I just want to float about the sky.

Echo gd about the throttle setting, keep off full throttle till you get used to her. She will go vertical on 75% throttle. Make sure you point her directly into the wind on launch any variation to this will cause the wind to lift a wing and its very difficult to recover from this. I always launch with 2 clicks of down trim on the elevater and fly around with this setting. You will realy enjoy floating her around on a warm sunny day. Oh leave lots of room to land, she can float the lenght of a football pitch from a height of only 4ft. Best to let her land herself rather than trying to force her down otherwise she will just carry on, you'll see for yourself, enjoy!
